Who We Are

Thank you so much for your generous donation to the Hunger Foundation of Southern Ocean (HFOSO).

The Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, volunteer-only organization which hosts charitable events to raise awareness about, and funds for, local food pantries as they help thousands of families each year in the Southern Ocean County area.

Since 1995, the Foundation has raised more than $1 million which has been donated to local food pantries to assist our neighbors in need.

We are so fortunate to have the ongoing support of our community and appreciate your generosity as we work together to achieve our vision of A community where all of our neighbors are free from hunger.

On behalf of St. Mary's Parish, I would like to sincerely thank you for your generous donation of $1,500.00 made to Ken's Kitchen. Ken's Kitchen is a program that was started over 13 years ago by St. Mary's volunteers. It serves over 600 hot meals every Thursday to those cannot always afford to buy or prepare a nutritious meal. Ken's Kitchen is a vital program in our community. It is run by volunteers and is funded strictly through donations. It is thanks to the generosity you have shown, that enables this program to keep providing meals to the many people who depend on this invaluable service. Thank you again and God bless you. The St. Francis Parish and Center would like to thank your members for your very generous donation of $1,500.00 to the Human Concerns Food Pantry. We are very blessed to be part of a community that shares our commitment to helping those less fortunate. Because of your generosity and thoughtfulness this program has grown in many ways to assist those in our community who are experiencing difficult times. The demand on the Food Pantry has grown over the past several years due to the cuts to the food stamp program. In the year 2015 we provided food and personal hygiene items to 7,388 adults and 3,932 children. Without the help of our community, we would not be able to meet this increased demand. Thank you again for your support. Thank You from St FrancisElizabeth Silk-Gutowski

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for the generous donation we recently received of $1,500 for our Food Pantry. Your support combined with the various other organizations helped raise much-needed funds to provide food for many families in need. The OCC food pantry was started in 1997, and has continued to grow over the years. The generosity of the community is a tremendous help in continuing our growth.
